Drying is a process of removal of water or another solvent by evaporation from a solid, semi-solid mixture. A fluidized bed is a bed of solid particles with a stream of air or gas passing upward through the particles at a rate great enough to set them in motion. As the air travels through the particle bed, it imparts unique properties to the bed. For example, the bed behaves as a liquid. Fluidized Granulation-Coating: Apart from drying the wet product, the Fluid Bed Processor is used for Granulation and Coating by means of spraying binders and coating solutions. The particles can be agglomerated (Granulation) to improve flow properties, or coated particles can be produce for controlled release or taste masking.
